For your consideration this extraordinary sculptural glass orb was produced by artist Peter Bramhall. This particular example is signed and dated underneath June 1st 1979 making it an especially early example of Bramhall's work in this medium. The sculpture features an amazing array of internal glass tendrils emanating from the base of the piece to points across the interior walls. In very well preserved cosmetic condition with no chips, cracks or breaks to either the internal or external glass composition.
Witch's Balls originated in the 1600's and were meant to catch or ward off any evil spirits, bad spells and general misfortune. They were usually hung in windows or next to doors.
